Case Study: West and North Hub Shopping Centres (West Kelowna BC)
Application: 6 Signage Pylons
The multi tenant pylons are powered for 365 days of the year, with the largest sign having more than 460 linear feet lighting the sign. We replaced the T12HO 84” fluorescent tubes at 100 watts with 84” linear at 40.3 watts. We used a linear product offered in different lengths to accommodate all the configurations in each pylon.
A BC Hydro audit confirmed an energy savings of 138,613 kWh per year with a $35,000 rebate to our customer. The result brighter cleaner signs saving energy and maintenance costs of over $20,000 per year.
Case Study: Toyota Auto Dealership (Kelowna BC)
Application: Outdoor Area Lighting
The Kelowna Toyota Dealership was one of the first in Canada to switch, replacing 1000 watt Metal Halide lighting fixtures for 218 watt LED fixtures.
Understanding the value of quality lighting Toyota had installed 1,000-watt metal halide luminaries to shine the light on their products drawing customers to their Kelowna British Columbia car lot. The dealership operates in a high-traffic retail area where it competes for buyers’ attention with other automotive dealerships. Over the years, the light from the metal halide luminaries started to deteriorate, and they became costly to maintain.
Case Study: University of Western Ontario (London ON)
Application: Loading Dock lights
At the University of Western Ontario in London the loading dock was dark and a challenge to navigate when maneuvering in the bays. Our solution was to replace the existing 175 watt HPS High Pressure Sodium lights for 36 watt LED Low Bay.
Creating a safer environment and saving energy the results are staggering. LED provides a cleaner more efficient light saving more than 14,000 kWh. This project installed more than 7 years ago is still as impressive today as it was they day the lights were switched on.
