Case Study: University of Western Ontario (London ON)
Application: Loading Dock lights
At the University of Western Ontario in London the loading dock was dark and a challenge to navigate when maneuvering in the bays. Our solution was to replace the existing 175 watt HPS High Pressure Sodium lights for 36 watt LED Low Bay.
Creating a safer environment and saving energy the results are staggering. LED provides a cleaner more efficient light saving more than 14,000 kWh. This project installed more than 7 years ago is still as impressive today as it was they day the lights were switched on.
Project Highlights
- Replaced – 20 175W High Pressure Sodium light fixtures, with 20 36W LB36 LED luminaires
- Increased light level – We increased the light levels over 3000 lumens while reducing the energy consumption.
- Maintenance free up to 17 years with 80,000 hour lamp life resulting in low maintenance cost
